Wilder Towns – Wilder Villages

We’ve signed up to the Essex Wildlife Trust – Wilder Communities 2023 programme.

This has been set up with the vision of getting town and parish councils to act locally and to begin to create a county where wildlife is thriving. Each person has access to nature and our habitats are all connected.

If you are an organisation, group, business or resident and would like to get involved, or have any ideas on how we can support wildlife in our village please get in touch. Over the next few months we will start to look at areas where we can encourage and support wildlife to flourish. This might be putting up nest boxes, planting up areas with wild flowers, replacing missing areas of hedgerows, leaving patches of grass to grow, building and installing insect/bee hotels, or hedgehog houses.

You can get in touch with any ideas you may have or offers of help: Please contact the Parish Clerk on:
Mobile: 07915 885908 • Email: clerk@debden-pc.gov.uk

Danielle Carbott visited Debden on August 3rd 2023 to do a site visit for suggestions on what we as a community might consider to help our wildlife. See her follow up letter below:
